The Lodge
Your relaxation begins the moment you arrive at our luxury safari lodge. We’re there to welcome you as you set foot on our property and take care of your luggage while you enjoy a refreshing drink as you check into your room. Once checked in, you’ll have time to rest after your journey before indulging in one of our many activities including an afternoon game drive with sundowners to toast the setting African sun.
The main lodge is the outcome of careful planning and designed in such a way that your interaction with the surrounding nature is prioritised. Our lodge includes outdoor communal areas and a Boma where guests can sit down to a meal beneath the bright starlit night or have a refreshing breakfast. There is a warm and comfortable indoor dining area as well. We also have indoor and outdoor lounge areas in which to put your feet up. Our communal deck has a 9-meter long pool which overlooks our waterhole. During the summer, you can relax in the pool while watching the wildlife below.
We ask that you keep in mind that we are situated in a game park and we have no fences. This means that some of your fellow guests could be curious wildlife. Bush babies and owls fill the night with their cries and during the day it is not uncommon to see warthogs and other animals in the grounds around the lodge.
Some of the experiences you can look forward to including:
Accommodation
Guests will retreat to one of our comfortable rooms after a peaceful day enjoying guided African safaris. Our rooms are designed to provide you with a pleasant environment in which to unwind and enjoy a peaceful slumber. As we are in a hot and humid area, our rooms are air-conditioned and airy. Each bed is protected by a mosquito net and guests will have access to their own private decks. As for the bathroom, each room has both an inside and outside shower, separate toilets and a double basin. The rooms are designed in such a way that you feel as close to nature as possible.
Included in each room:
The Pool
Seeing that we are situated in one of the warmest regions of the country, it is only natural that we have a swimming pool. In keeping with the aesthetic of the lodge, a 9-meter long pool has been built into a wooden deck and gives those swimming the perfect vantage point from which to look at the wildlife as just beyond our pool lies a watering hole which is quite popular with the animals.
If swimming is not something you are keen on, you can always lounge on a sun bed and soak up that warm African sunlight. There is nothing quite like the African sun; it will reinvigorate your senses. Be sure to pack a powerful SPF though, as too much sun will definitely leave a burn.
Gym
One of the most invigorating ways to unleash your stress and free your mind is to work up a sweat. Our gym is modest and minimal, but it has everything you could need to keep on track with your daily work out.
You don’t need to sacrifice your fitness routine when visiting Toro Yaka, be sure to pack your workout clothing!
